We recently worked on an illustration piece about Portuguese footballing legend and number 8, João Pinto for Box to Box Football’s magazine. The story looks at how the player’s career came to an end during the Japan Korea world cup in 2002. He was involved in a controversial bad tackle against a South Korean player that earned him a red card. The illustration represents Pinto’s fall from grace and depicts the end to his career in the shadow of his tombstone on the field of play (a red card). We also created a bespoke typeface for the article.
You can order a copy of the magazine on the Box to Box website.
