A history in colours. Burnley Football Club was founded in 1882 and was a founder member of the Football League in 1888. Throughout their existence they’ve turned out in around 20 different colour combinations. They spent 10 years wearing green and white. It was 28 years playing in a miscellany of kit colours before they started to wear their now legendary and traditional colours, inspired by Aston Villa. From 1910 they’ve worn the claret and blue from which their nickname ‘The Clarets’ came from. In this famous strip they won England’s top division twice and became runners up twice as well as FA Cup winners.
